Kathleen (Kit) MacNeill

Mrs. MacNeill has been a member of The Royal Canadian Legion for fifty years, holding numerous senior positions, including that of President, Branch 17, Dalhousie, for six years. She has been a dedicated member of the Ladies Auxiliary since 1946, serving on the Executive for 16 years, 10 of them as President. During those years, Mrs. MacNeill chaired several committees, including the Welfare and Bursaries and Poppy Fund committees. She selflessly works five days a week as Office Manager and Service Officer for the Veterans, all on a volunteer basis. Mrs. MacNeill was instrumental in helping the local Legion branch organize a fund-raising campaign to replace the roof on its building. She successfully secured funding from the City of Moncton and the Province of New Brunswick. Due to her initiative and efforts, the local Legion is now debt free. Mrs. MacNeil strongly advocated for the new Veterans unit at George Dumont Hospital which was opened in July, 2002.
