Lise Forbes

From 2002 to 2008, Mrs. Forbes served as Secretary of the Millville Area Veterans’ Memorial Committee. In this position, she was responsible for several key roles. Mrs. Forbes acted as the Committee’s contact and completed government agency applications related to funding. She was responsible for mailing out news articles to Veterans and other concerned individuals pertaining to the project’s progress. Mrs. Forbes also assumed responsibility for recording all correspondence related to the project. In addition to her contributions as Secretary, she worked closely with the Treasurer and assisted in keeping records on incoming funds and sending out letters of appreciation to donors. Mrs. Forbes’ volunteer service and valuable assistance in all of these roles was extremely appreciated and valued by the Chairman and other committee members. Her involvement and accomplishments were pivotal in contributing to the project’s success and the Memorial’s completion and unveiling in 2004. Mrs. Forbes, a 16-year member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 in Millville, is a Volunteer Executive Member who strives to keep the branch operational, so that programs for veterans and remembrance can continue. Where others failed to volunteer, Mrs. Forbes comes forward to aid without hesitation. In recognition of her tireless community service, including her outstanding efforts related to Veterans, Mrs. Forbes was awarded a Certificate of Merit from The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 in Millville.
