Wesley Everitt CD

Wesley Everitt is a Veteran of the Canadian Armed Forces nominated for his work with The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 191 in Chemainus and at the zone level.

In his 35 years with the Legion, he has held various executive positions. From 2006-2019, he served as Sergeant-at-Arms, directing the colour party and ensuring they attend all parades, memorial services and other events. He is also active on the Poppy Campaign, tagging and canvassing businesses for donations. For Remembrance Day, he organizes activities at six schools, including a colour party and Veterans who tell their stories and answer questions.

For the last ten years, he has chaired the Honours and Awards Committee. As a delegate for Branch 191, he attends South Vancouver Island Zone meetings and brings key points back to his branch.

He regularly visits Veterans and their families in the Cowichan Valley, ensuring they receive the benefits they deserve. When required, he also helps distribute the Poppy Fund. He is recognized as the “go-to” person for Veterans and their families if they need assistance in his community.
