Son of William Blueman and Mary James. Husband of Martha Beatrice Kazincsy, of Flin Flon, Manitoba. Brother of George Langdon Blueman, who fought in Europe during the conflict, and survived the war.
Enlisted with the Sault Ste-Marie Sudbury Regiment (MG) – NPAM – in Sudbury, Ontario, then in the reugualr forces of the Winnipeg Grenadiers on 16 September 1939 to serve in Manitoba, in Jamaica with Force Y, in Hong Kong with Force C and in Japan as prisoner of war. He had 1,953 days of service, including 1,180 overseas.
To commemorate his sacrifice, the Government of Manitoba named Blueman Lake, located south-east of Lake Reindeer in his honour in 1973. "

YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY Japan
YOKOHAMA WAR CEMETERY is 9 kilometres west of the city on Yuenchi-Dori, Hodogaya Ward, which branches left off the old Tokkaido highway. The nearest railway station is Hodogaya, 5 kilometres to the north on the JNR line but the cemetery is easily reached by bus from Yokohama station.
