This memorial is dedicated to the memory of the members of the Calvin Presbyterian Church who served and gave their lives in the First World War.
This plaque was originally displayed in Calvin Presbyterian Church, formerly located at 7 Fairbairn Street (corner of Fairbairn Street and Sunnyside Avenue). However, with the 1925 union of the Presbyterian and Methodist churches to form the United Church of Canada, Calvin Presbyterian Church and Ottawa South Methodist Church consolidated to form Southminster United Church with the artifacts and records of the former churches relocated to Southminster United Church. Calvin Presbyterian Church vacated its former building around 1930 though the building continues to be used as a place of worship by St Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church.
The Southminster United Church Second World War Honouor Roll, Southminster United Church Second World War Plaque and Ottawa South Methodist Church First World War Honour Roll are also located here.
