National Indigenous Peoples Day

Transcript
Today is National Indigenous Peoples Day. About 12,000 First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples have served Canada selflessly in uniform. We celebrate their unique heritage and diverse cultures. We commemorate their courage and contributions in times of conflict and during peace support missions. And we remember their sacrifices for our freedom. I ask all Canadians to join me in thanking Canada’s Indigenous Peoples for their bravery and for their service. A message from the government of Canada
Description

National Indigenous Peoples Day is celebrated each year on 21 June. Indigenous people in Canada have reason to be proud of their long tradition of military service and today, we celebrate their unique heritage and diverse cultures across the country.
