International Women’s Day

Transcript
International Women’s Day is a chance for us to reflect on the contributions that Canadians have made to advancing gender equality here and around the world. From the factories and nursing stations of the First and Second World Wars, to the mountains of Afghanistan, and peace-support operations around the world today, women have served Canada in uniform for more than a century. And by pushing through the norms and barriers they faced, they forged a path for the women of today who continue to step forward to represent Canada with our flag on their shoulder. This International Women’s Day, I hope you’ll join me in recognizing the extraordinary women who have helped make the world a safer, more equal place A message from the government of Canada
Description

From the early days of Canada’s Nursing Sisters serving during the South African War and First World War, Canadian women have been serving in Canada’s military with pride for more than a century. Their impressive achievements still echo today and inspire those who continue the pursuit for gender equality. #becauseofyou #IWD2020 http://ow.ly/avIo50yEGBu
