Source: The Roll of Honour of the Ontario Teachers Who Served in the Great War 1914-1918 (The Ryerson Press: Toronto, 1922). The 1914-1918 Roll of Service for Ontario Teachers contains 851 names. 101 died as a result of their military service. The information on this Honour Roll may differ from other sources as it was compiled by the Department of Education in Toronto, Ontario, from "...varied and numerous sources, that mistakes are inevitable."

Canadian Field Artillery 1914-1918 Roll of Honour. Original collection
belonging to Fred Snider Hughes, 304493, a native of Toronto, Ontario.
Hughes served as a Driver in the 33rd Battery, 9th Brigade, C.F.A. After
the war he was a member of the 33rd Battery Association. The names listed on
this Honour Roll mainly include men who were at some time during the war
connected to the 33rd or 34th Batteries.

CIMETIÈRE MILITAIRE D'ÉCOIVRES Pas de Calais, France
Mont-Saint-Éloi est un village du département du Pas-de-Calais situé à 8 kilomètres au nord-ouest d'Arras. Le village surplombe les champs de bataille de Vimy et de Souchez ainsi que la route principale qui mène de Béthune à Arras. Les tours en ruine qu'on peut apercevoir servaient de postes d'observation pendant les attaques françaises qui se sont déroulées à Neuville-Saint-Vaast et à Givenchy en mai 1915.
Écoivres est un hameau au pied de la colline, à 1,5 kilomètre au sud-ouest de Mont-Saint-Éloi, sur la ligne Arras-Saint-Pol. Le cimetière se trouve sur la route D49.
