Private Thomas George King was born in London, England on 17/03/1887. He worked as a farmer and served for two summers with the 56th regiment in Goderich, Ontario. When he enlisted, he listed his next of kin as Richard and Annie King and his address as Kenmore, Ontario. The attestation form was later modified after he married Mrs. Sarah Anna King (nee Barney), who was twice married. Sarah was married the first time in 1899 in England and her husband Mr. Foster, died a short time before she came to Canada in 1912. Thomas and Sarah lived at 10 Adelaide Street in Ottawa with 3 daughters and a son.

This plaque is dedicated to the memory of Private Thomas George King, born March 1887. He was killed in the Battle of Dury Wood and is buried at Dury Mill British Cemetery, between Arras and Cambrai.
This plaque was originally located at the Loyal Orange #222 Billings Bridge; at the time, the village of Billings Bridge was a small community near the present day Billings Bridge in Ottawa. With the closure of the Lodge, the plaque eventually came into the hands of Gloucester Township Historical Society.

'The Resurrection' by Robert McCausland Limited was dedicated at St Matthew's Anglican Church in the Glebe, Ottawa on 17 Jan 1921 to the members of the church who served during the Great War. The window was transferred to the current site, 217 First Avenue in 1938.

CIMETIÈRE BRITANNIQUE DE DURY MILL Pas de Calais, France
Dury est un village du département du Pas-de-Calais situé à un kilomètre au nord de la route droite principale allant d'Arras à Cambrai (D939). Lorsque vous voyagez en direction de Cambrai sur la route D939, le Mémorial canadien de Dury est situé à 16 kilomètres environ d'Arras. Après le Mémorial, un panneau annonçant le cimetière se trouve à gauche, à 300 mètres, en direction de Dury. À 200 mètres de la route D939, il y a un panneau annonçant le cimetière à gauche. Le cimetière est situé dans les champs et on s'y rend en empruntant un sentier non pavé de 500 mètres.
