Grave of 2015444 Pvt. Walter Edmond Eglinton who served with the 1st Depot Battn. British Columbia C.E.F.
Born in the town of Wadhurst in Sussex England on Dec. 2nd 1879. Husband of Florence A. Eglinton of San Francisco CA U.S.A. Walter enlisted into the C.E.F. at Vancouver BC on Sept. 25th 1918. He listed prior military service of 3 years (1902-05)with the Queens Own 1st West Kent Regt. (British Army) He listed his occupation as "Auto Mechanic & Driver"
Walter died during the Spanish Flu panademic of 1918-19 on Oct. 21st 1918 at the age of 38 with less than a months service in the military. He was laid to rest in the Mountain View cemetery of Vancouver BC.
