He served with the Canadian Field Artillery, 15th Bty. 6th Bde. He died 4 May 1917. He was buried in La Targette British Cemetery in Pas de Calais, France.

CIMETIÈRE BRITANNIQUE DE LA TARGETTE Pas de Calais, France
Neuville-Saint-Vaast est un village à 6,5 kilomètres au nord d'Arras, à quelque distance de la route de Béthune à Arras, en direction est. Le cimetière britannique de La Targette se trouve au sud-ouest du village, du côté nord-ouest de la route qui mène au village de Maroeuil.
