Baptized Joseph-André-Albert Blanchet. Son of Bathélemi Blanchet and Laura Guérette, of Rimouski, Bas-St-Laurent, Québec.
Loaned to the 2nd Canadian Entrenching Battalion from 2 December 1916 to 21 February 1917, he joined the 22nd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force in action at Angres, Pas-de-Calais, France. In April, he fought on Vimy Ridge. He was killed in action on 1 May 1917 at the Battle of Fresnoy, near Vimy.
