His full name is William Russell Jollow.


Son of William Howard Russell Jollow and Olive May Osborne of Bowmanville, Durham, Ontario.


On 15 June 1942, 100 miles (160 km) north-west of Trinidad, the Cold Harbor was torpedoed by U-502 at 4:10 am, position 11°40'N/62°55'W. At around 4:40 am, a second torpedo was launched. The ship sank around 15 minutes later. Eight survivors were picked up at around 9 h am by the American patrol boat USS Opal (PYc 8) and landed at Port of Spain, Trinidad. 19 other sailors were rescued by the SS Exmouth 24 hours later and taken back to the same port. 14 sailors and 3 armed guards were picked up by the SS Kahuku at 3:20 am on the 16th. She was torpedoed the same day by the U-126. Seven sailors from the Cold Harbor perished, including one on the Kahuku.
