Fils de M. F. W. et Gertrude E. Hayden (née Stone), de Toronto, Ontario. Il a été étudiant postbaccalauréat du conservatoire de Toronto. Il fut professeur chargé de cours au Collège Trinity à Toronto.

Canadian Field Artillery 1914-1918 Roll of Honour. Original collection
belonging to Fred Snider Hughes, 304493, a native of Toronto, Ontario.
Hughes served as a Driver in the 33rd Battery, 9th Brigade, C.F.A. After
the war he was a member of the 33rd Battery Association. The names listed on
this Honour Roll mainly include men who were at some time during the war
connected to the 33rd or 34th Batteries.

World War One memorial tablet, St. Paul's (Anglican), Bloor St. East, Toronto, Ontario. One of two memorial tablets set within a spectacular carved alabaster chancel screen. Erected in memory of the men of St. Paul's who died during the first World War and unveiled in March 1926. Each alabaster tablet incorporates mosaic work depicting kneeling angels holding a laurel wreath and a torch. Seventy-six names in total were listed by date of death. Inscribed: "IN CHRIST SHALL ALL BE MADE ALIVE", and from The Very Reverend Cyril Alington: "And us they trusted. We the task inherit / The unfinished task for which their lives were spent / But leaving us a portion of their spirit / They gave their witness and they died content."

Le cimetière de l'Est de Boulogne est l'un des cimetières municipaux; il se trouve sur des hautes terres du côté est de Boulogne, sur la route qui mène à Saint-Omer.
HEURES D'OUVERTURE : sept jours sur sept, toute l'année.
Du 1er octobre au 15 mars : 8 h à 18 h
Du 16 mars au 30 septembre : 8 h à 19 h
