This is a copy of a photo of John "Mack" Cote taken during combat and printed in the Toronto Star newspaper.<P>
Some soldiers were reading that newspaper while riding a train in Ontario. I, Mack's sister Geraldine, was also on the train and recognized my brother's photo. I cut it out and later our father, Alex Cote, after receiving permission from officials in Ottawa, was able to obtain a copy from the newpaper. Mack was killed in action a couple of weeks after the photo was taken.<P>
My grandson, Steven Ouellette, having seen this photo displayed in my home, recognized it in a library book at Trent University in Peterborough, ON during his History studies there.

CIMETIÈRE DE GUERRE CANADIEN DE CALAIS (Leubringhen) Pas de Calais, France
Leubringhen est un village dans le département du Pas-de-Calais, à mi-chemin entre Calais et Boulogne et on y trouve le cimetière de guerre canadien de Calais. Celui-ci est situé du côté est de la route Calais-Boulogne, à 14 kilomètres de Calais.
De Calais, quittez l'autoroute à l'intersection 9 et prenez à gauche sur la N3-E402 vers St Inglevert. Passez à travers le village et en sortant, prenez votre première gauche par-dessus le pont-route et suivez cette route pendant environ 250 mètres. Vous apercevrez le cimetière à votre gauche.
