Photo 2 of John Cote
This is a copy of a photo of John "Mack" Cote taken during combat and printed in the Toronto Star newspaper.
Some soldiers were reading that newspaper while riding a train in Ontario. I, Mack's sister Geraldine, was also on the train and recognized my brother's photo. I cut it out and later our father, Alex Cote, after receiving permission from officials in Ottawa, was able to obtain a copy from the newpaper. Mack was killed in action a couple of weeks after the photo was taken.
My grandson, Steven Ouellette, having seen this photo displayed in my home, recognized it in a library book at Trent University in Peterborough, ON during his History studies there. -
