Cité à l'ordre du jour deux fois (1900 et 1902).
Il a servi dans le 1e bataillon du 45e régiment, Sherwood Foresters, de 1890 à 1911. Major breveté en 1900. Il a commandé le 4th King's African Rifles de 1905 à 1907). De plus, il a servi dans le Royal Niger Company's Expedition en 1896, le West African Campaign (1896 à 1897), le South African Campaign (1899 à 1902), et le East African Expedition (1906).

Major Percy Rigby was one of only two Officers (and the only Major) killed in action when the CEF first entered the trenches during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle in March of 1915. Research on this relatively unknown battle for the Canadians tells us that Major Rigby was initially buried at Chateau La Boutillere and later exhumed and buried in the Rue-David Military Cemetery. The Concentration of Graves Burial Return shown in the image records that he was exhumed from Grave 10 of the Abbey Wall Cemetery (under north wall of the ruined chateau) located at Map Coordinates 36.N5.c.30.95.

CIMETIÈRE MILITAIRE DE LA RUE-DAVID Pas de Calais, France
Fleurbaix est un village situé à 5 kilomètres environ au sud-ouest d'Armentières. Le cimetière militaire de la rue-David se trouve au sud-est du village. À partir de Fleurbaix, dirigez-vous vers Armentières. À 300 mètres du centre de Fleurbaix, tournez à droite en direction de Bois-Grenier. Conduisez sur une distance d'un kilomètre et tournez encore à droite, puis suivez la route en faisant la courbe prononcée qui tourne vers la gauche. Le cimetière se trouve à quelque 500 mètres plus loin.
