The 15th Battalion memorial at Hendecourt-les-Cagnicourt, France on the site of the wooded hill known during the war as ‘The Crow’s Nest’. The 15th Battalion assaulted and captured ‘The Crow’s Nest”on 01 Sept 1918 in the opening phase of the Canadian attack on the Drocourt-Queant Line. The memorial was dedicated on 26 April 2010 to those of the 15th Battalion who fell here and in the breakthrough of the D-Q line in early September 1918.

The rebuilt Chateau in Chateau Wood, Hendecourt les Cagnicourt. It was part of the objective when the 15th Battalion assaulted The Crow's Nest on 01 September 11918. Lt Loudon was killed leading his platoon in the assault on Chateau Wood. In honour of Lt Loudon, one of the Chateau's meeting rooms was named after him during the reception at the Chateau that followed the 26 April 2010 dedication of the 15th Battalion's Crow's Nest memorial.

Of the six Officers in the photograph, three would be killed in action: Lt EM Haldane (standing left) at Hill 70 in August 1917; Lt BM Loudon (standing centre) at The Crow's Nest in Sept 1918 and Lt Geoffrey Snow at Regina Trench in September 1916.

CIMETIÈRE DU DOMINION Pas de Calais, France
Hendecourt-les-Cagnicourt est situé dans le département du Pas-de-Calais, à 16 kilomètres au sud-est d'Arras et à 4 kilomètres au sud de la route principale d'Arras à Cambrai.
Le cimetière du Dominion se trouve à 2,5 kilomètres au nord-est du village, à 545 mètres environ de la route.
