Sous-lieutenant Osbert Leveson Calverley
Born in England, Osbert Calverley entered Appleby in September 1912. He played on the First Rugby (Football) Team, and graduated to the Royal Military College in 1916. Having joined the Royal Flying Corps at the end of 1917, he was sent to Texas for part of his training, and was the first in his class to earn his wings. He was sent to England about May, 1918, to complete his training, and expected to soon go to France, but he met his death in an airplane accident. Photo from the Appleby College Archives

He is commemorated on the Memorial Arch at the Royal Military College of Canada, the Appleby College Honour Roll, and on Page 584 of the First World War Book of Remembrance.

Le cimetière de la ville de Cambridge est situé à 2 kilomètres environ à l'est de Cambridge, sur la route qui mène à Newmarket.
Il est regrettable qu'il ne soit pas possible de garder une copie du registre dans ce cimetière. On peut obtenir de l'aide du personnel, pendant les heures de présence, et une copie du registre peut être consultée au siège de la Commission, au 2 Marlow Road, Maidenhead, Berkshire, SL6 7DX.
