Percy Smith joined the 226th (Men of the North) Bn in Dauphin, Manitoba.
He died at Camp Hughes on 5 August, 1916.<P>
The 226th Bn was shipped to England in 1916. It was attached to the 5th
Reserve Brigade at Bramshott in January 1917. It was disbanded in 1917 and
its personnel were absorbed by the 11th Reserve Bn (Manitoba Regiment), 2nd
Reserve Brigade, at Shorncliffe. The Bn was awarded the battle honour 'The
Great War 1916-1917. It is perpetuated by The Royal Winnipeg Rifles.
