Grave of 2710671 Sapper Samuel Edwin Aiken who served with the Canadian Engneers C.E.F. Born in Collins Bay Ontario on June 21st 1882. Husband of Herma I. Aiken of West Vancouver BC.
Samuel enlisted into the C.E.F. at Vancouver BC on July 30th 1918 listing prior military service of 1 year with the Queens Own Rifles of Canada 1901-02
and one year with the Canadian Mounted Rifles 1902. He listed his occupation as "Railway Brakeman" Samuel died on Sept. 30th 1918 at the age of 36 of the Spanish Flu during the great panademic of 1918-19. He was laid to rest in the Mountain View Cemetery of Vancouver BC.
