He served with the Royal Field Artillery Division: C Battery 63rd Brigade. He died on July 13, 1916. He was buried in the Abbreville Cemetery, Somme, France.

On their 50th anniversary the class of August 1915 at the Royal Military College of Canada have placed this memorial stained glass window to honour their fallen classmates.

CIMETIÈRE COMMUNAL D'ABBEVILLE Somme, France
Abbeville est une ville située sur la route principale allant de Paris à Boulogne, à environ 80 kilomètres au sud de Boulogne. En arrivant à Abbeville à partir de Boulogne sur la route N1, tournez à droite au carrefour giratoire juste avant la route qui mène à Boulogne.
Il y a un panneau de la Commission des sépultures de guerre du Commonwealth sur le site. Entrez dans le cimetière communal par l'entrée principale située à gauche et suivez les panneaux de la Commission des sépultures de guerre du Commonwealth qui se trouvent dans le cimetière.
