Notice:

The National Inventory of Canadian Military Memorials is a public, crowd-sourced registry that helps Canadians learn about memorials in their communities. Inclusion in the Inventory does not imply VAC ownership or authority. Responsibility for the care, management, and any changes to a memorial rests with its owning or governing organization.

This memorial was originally erected by the RCAF Station Greenwood and 14 Wing in 1967 to commemorate the various squadrons stationed in Kingston at the time. From the Mirror-Examiner, July 15, 2000: "A newly refurbished monument to the cooperation between 14 Wing Greenwood and the Village of Kingston was rededicated at the Steer Barbecue July 8, 2000. Participating in the ceremony were: Kings West MLA Jon Carey; Kingston Village Chair Lawrence England; John Hand, who designed the new monument; MP Scott Brison; 14 Wing C.O. Col. Brian Handley; Town Crier Lloyd Smith."
