Notice:

The National Inventory of Canadian Military Memorials is a public, crowd-sourced registry that helps Canadians learn about memorials in their communities. Inclusion in the Inventory does not imply VAC ownership or authority. Responsibility for the care, management, and any changes to a memorial rests with its owning or governing organization.

The Town of Innisfil War Memorial was unveiled November 11, 2012. The monument is a simple stone resting on a base, which bears the badges of the Navy, Army, Air Force and Merchant Navy. The memorial was initiated by a Town Citizens Committee and is the first memorial that represents the municipality as a whole.

Veterans, Canadian Forces members, police and firefighters marched behind the pipes to the front of town hall, where the engraved stone stood, draped in a white sheet. After the stone was unveiled, wreaths were laid by representatives of civic, community and Veterans groups. The Innisfil Pipe and Drums and the band of Barrie’s Sea Cadet Corps provided music.
