The first Wyoming Cenotaph was located in front of the library at 536 Niagara Street and dedicated on September 25, 1955, in everlasting memory of those who lost their lives in the First and Second World Wars. In October 1986, the cenotaph plaque donated by Canadians of Dutch descent was replaced and the old plaque was moved to the legion for a memorial display. In 2008, the 1986 plaque and cross on top of the old cenotaph that was donated by Ron Canton, were installed on the Wyoming Cenotaph at this location.
