This memorial was the idea of Principal Trench of the Perth Collegiate Institute. Staff and students raised the money to build the memorial. Mr. Robert Stenhouse built it and it was unveiled October 24, 1923. It was dedicated to past students of Perth Collegiate Institute who served in the First World War: The Glorious Dead, the men who served and the nursing sisters. The Perth Courier, Friday, November 2nd, 1923 The Memorial Tablet is of marble comprising three panels and the product of Mr. Robert Stenhouse…The centre panel contains the names of the glorious dead and the nursing sisters, while the outer panels contain the names of those who served. Above the centre panel is the PCI crest and across the bottom of the tablet the following: 1914 Aug. 4, Lest We Forget, Nov. 11 1918."
