The Callander Cenotaph is estimated to have been built between 1934-1939, to commemorate fallen soldiers of the First World War. After the Second World War, a plaque was added to honour the war dead. The Korean War is also recognized, although no one from this area was lost during that war.

On June 11, 1967, the cenotaph was rededicated and blessed by His Excellency Bishop Carter.
