Maddock Court

This street is named in honour of Flight Sergeant Frederick Daniel Maddock (RCAF), a member of 15 (R.A.F.) Squadron, who died May 25, 1944. Burial: Groesbeek Canadian War Cemetery, Netherlands. Researched by Nicole Patterson, Oshawa Public Libraries, 2008: "Red" lived in Oshawa for eleven years, attending Centre Street Public School and the University of Toronto and was employed at General Motors before he enlisted on December 10, 1941, at Toronto. After enlisting , he received training at Toronto, Moose Jaw, Trenton and McDonald, Manitoba before going overseas in September 1943. Maddock was reported missing in early July 1944, and later it was reported by the International Red Cross at Geneva, that he had lost his life on May 25, 1944.
