A marble plaque in memory of Gunner Sydney Mercer McWhinney was donated by his father and unveiled by his brother Gunner Harry McWhinney, MM, on March 28, 1920, on the west side of St. Paul's Anglican Church. Gunner McWhinney died of his wounds on June 15, 1916, while serving with the 34th Battalion.
