This memorial is dedicated by the veterans of the MacKenzie-Papineau Battalion, October 13, 1989, in tribute to the 1447 Canadians - 106 from Manitoba - who fought with the MacKenzie-Papineau Battalion in Spain from 1936 to 1939.
