These slabs were erected by the Aircrew Association (Southern Alberta Branch) and the Aerospace Museum Association of Calgary in honour of those who trained in Calgary as part of the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan during the Second World War. Aside from the central stone slab are four others, each bearing the plaque naming the commonwealth air forces who trained here. There is also a painted gravel mural of a Canadian roundel in front of the slabs.
