This memorial was erected by Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 116 and is dedicated to the local war dead of the First and Second World Wars. The Marwayne Legion Cenotaph was constructed in 1960 (upgraded in 1995) in memory of those of the District who gave their lives in the First World War and the Second World War. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 116, Marwayne, and the Ladies Auxiliary are both active in the community. They hold an annual Remembrance Day service November 11th each year.
