The Bruce Warren Memorial Garden was dedicated to his memory on June 24, 2001. The garden, which has the museum’s CF-100 as a backdrop, was the result of efforts by museum director Jim Wiersma and his wife Pauline. In attendance were Bruce’s twin, Douglas "Duke", their sons, and other members of the Warren family. The garden was dedicated by Reverend Dwight Powell. Douglas "Duke" and Bruce’s son Douglas unveiled the engraved black granite monument.
Born in Nanton, the Warren twins trained at High River and flew Spitfires together at Dieppe and throughout the Second World War. Douglas retired to Comox following a distinguished career with the Air Force. Bruce was killed while testing a prototype CF-100 jet fighter. The accident was thought to have been caused by an oxygen system malfunction.
