This memorial was constructed after the Second World War in memory of the war dead of S.F.T.S #34 British Commonwealth Air Training Plan and also local veterans of the First and Second World Wars. It was inaugurated 10 June 1960. 46 men died during the training operations April 28, 1941 - July 1, 1944 (Canadians - 6; Free French - 1; Belgium - 2; Netherlands - 1; Czeckoslovakia - 2; U.K - 36; New Zealand - 1).
