This memorial, which marks the cemetery's field of honour, was erected by Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 140 and is dedicated to veterans of the Second World War. Two gravesites were donated to the Valleyview Legion Branch by Comrade Jimmy (Trevor) James for veteran’s graves. In 1994 the Valleyview Legion Branch #140 decided to build a Field of Honour and approached the Town Of Valleyview for a suitable spot. In 1996 two sketches of Monuments were shown to the Branch by Mr. Les Bignold of Suncrest Monuments. The Monument that stands today was picked by the members. Mr. Les Bignold of SunCrest created the Monument. The memorial resides at the back of the cemetery along a path that goes through the graves. Across from it is a bench for mourners. November 11th 1997 was the dedication and unveiling of the monument with the Legion President.
