Notice:

Inclusion in the Inventory does not imply VAC ownership or authority. Responsibility for the care, management, and any changes to a memorial rests with its owning or governing organization.

Vicars Road honours Lieutenant-Colonel J.R. Vicars, Commanding Officer of the Rocky Mountain Rangers and sons Hugh and Desmond. The City of Kamloops Heritage Commission initiated the Veterans Street Sign project to promote public awareness of the City’s heritage. To honour their Veterans the City of Kamloops added a poppy symbol to the Vicars Road street sign in honour of Lieutenant-Colonel J.R. Vicars and his son Desmond who later served as the Commanding Officer of the Rocky Mountain Rangers.
