Kipp Road honours William Kipp and family who came to Kamloops 1915. The City of Kamloops Heritage Commission initiated the Veterans Street Sign project to promote public awareness of the City’s heritage. To honour their Veterans the City of Kamloops added a poppy symbol to the Kipp Road street sign in honour of William's son Squadron Leader Robert Allan Kipp who died while serving with the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War.
