The home learning corner is a new feature to help youth (and parents) learn more about Remembrance and Canadian military history during these challenging times. The activities in this section are derived from existing lesson plans found on our website and are presented in a simplifed way.

The Canadians who fought to free the Dutch people in 1944-1945 played an important role in the Allied efforts to bring the Second World War to an end in Europe. You can use these resources to help the young people in your home learn more about this important campaign.

Victory over Japan (V-J) Day and the end of the Second World War

The Second World War ended 75 years ago with the surrender of Japanese forces and the declaration of Victory over Japan (V-J) Day on 15 August 1945. Canada played an important role in this bitter conflict that raged for almost six years. Use these resources to learn more about it and remember those who served.
