Who am I? Alexander Decoteau
I was born November 19, 1887 on the Red Pheasant First Nation in Saskatchewan.
I was Canada’s first Indigenous police officer and a 1912 Olympic long-distance runner.
Wanting to serve my country during the First World War, I enlisted as a private with the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
I was killed October, 30, 1917, during the bloody battle of Passchendaele.
