The Tales of Animals in War newspaper is for ages 5 to 11 to introduce the concepts of remembrance and thanks to younger children.
Happy birthday to The Royal Canadian Legion!
This year The Royal Canadian Legion is turning 100 years old. That’s a lot of birthday candles!
The Legion was formed in 1926 to help Veterans of the First World War. Today, it still helps Veterans and their families across Canada.
The Legion also helps young people remember and recognize those who served. Every year it holds poster, video and writing contests. You can even win prizes! The Remembrance Club is taking part. We want to honour people who served and died for Canada.

Little flower, big meaning
The Royal Canadian Legion makes sure we all have a red poppy to wear on Remembrance Day. Poppies are an important symbol of remembrance in Canada.

Don’t forget to remember!
For Remembrance Day, we’re creating something special for our school. We are writing thank you messages and the names of fallen Canadians on sticky notes. Then, we’ll put them all together into a poppy mosaic on the wall.
Remembrance is something we can do together.
