Join us for the Major David Peabody Memorial Walk & Ruck as we honour the life and legacy of Major David Peabody, former director of The Military Museums, who died in December 2024. This event both commemorates his life and achievements as a soldier, leader, and historical education advocate. It will offer both civilian and military personnel an opportunity to take part in rucking (or walking without weight) within the grounds of The Military Museums in a 1-km loop while enjoying the sights of historical military vehicles, artifacts, and good company.

Everyone is encouraged to do any distance that they feel comfortable with, but also with no limit on the number of laps for those looking to challenge themselves. This is an opportunity for people from all walks of life to meet one another, meet serving soldiers in the CAF, and enjoy the bonding experience that is a ruck-march.

Donations are greatly appreciated.

The Military Museums is appreciative of any monetary donations. Donations for this event will go towards the creation and maintenance of the Maj. David Peabody Memorial Display.

With your donation, you will receive free admission to The Military Museums for entry on 7 November 2026 from 10am to 5pm.

Donations can be made at the event check-in table on 7 November 2026 from 10am-1pm.
