In one of the most beautiful settings in Ottawa, Green Island, eight military memorials can be found, far too rarely seen by visitors. This free, short walking tour will introduce you to them. They include: -National Artillery Memorial -Remember Flanders (John McCrae) -Ottawa Memorial to the Commonwealth Air Forces -McKenzie-Papineau Memorial -Defence of Hong Kong Memorial -Chemical Warfare Volunteers Plaque -International Peace Garden -CANLOAN Memorial The tour will be led by Rob Collins, BA History from uOttawa and a Volunteer Interpreter at the Canadian War Museum. This year, expand your Remembrance Day experience beyond the National War Memorial and take in these other important monuments.
