This memorial was erected by The Bytown Gunners in 2013. The two stained glass windows depict some of the duties of an artillery soldier when deployed in the field, including:

  • Position, operate, and maintain Field Guns and Mortar Tubes.
  • Provide fire-support advice to the Infantry and Armour units.
  • Use and maintain personal weapons and section-level weapons up to and including machine-guns and anti-tank weapons.

The 30th Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery (RCA) also known as The Bytown Gunners, is a reserve unit in Ottawa, Ontario that is part of 33 Canadian Battle Group (33 CBG).
