The Campbellford Cenotaph was erected in 1926, by two local chapters of the Imperial Orders of the Daughters of the Empire, at a cost of $5,000 to honour those lost in the Great War. It was restored and rededicated in 2009 when the missing names of 12 veterans who died in the First World War and one veteran who died in the Second World War were added.
A fence surrounds the entire cenotaph which consists of a white granite centerpiece sitting on a cement base and is flanked by flag poles. The carved reversed swords on the front centerpiece symbolize the end of hostilities.
The names of the those lost in the two World Wars and Korean War are engraved in the massive stone, while two additional plaques list the names of those who served during the major conflicts.
