The Cap-Pele War Memorial was erected by Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 91, this memorial is dedicated to the memory of the First and Second World Wars and the Korean War. It was located in front of the old Royal Canadian Legion building. When this building was sold, some of the funds leftover from the sale were used to build a new cenotaph. The memorial was then moved from the Legion building to the park behind the Town Hall where the new cenotaph also resides.
