This lecture hall is named in memory of Chief Warrant Officer Gerald Collins.  He is a native of Mulgrave, NS and joined the Canadian Forces in 1976. Following completion of his recruit course and sapper qualification level 3 course, he served in a variety of combat engineering and instructional positions with 2 Field Squadron Gagetown, 4 Combat Engineer Regiment Lahr, 22 Field Squadron Gagetown, Canadian Forces School of Military Engineering (CFSME) Chilliwack, 2 Combat Engineer Regiment Petawawa and 4 Airfield Engineer Squadron Cold Lake. Promoted to MWO in 1995, he deployed to Bosnia with 1 Construction Engineering Unit. This was followed in 1998 by a posting to the German Army Training Establishment Shilo. In 2001, he was posted to CFSME and appointed RSM of 4 Engineer Support Regiment Gagetown in 2003. He returned to CFSME as School Chief Warrant Officer in 2005. CWO Gerry Collins passed away on 05 November 2006 of complications from surgery.
