On 6 May 1922 a wayside cross was unveiled at Grace Church on-the-Hill by Bishop of Toronto, James Fielding Sweeny and dedicated to the members of the congregation who died in the First World War. The buttressed pillar upon a square base terminates in an octagonal spire of exquisite design. The cross on its summit recalls His sacrifice Who said, "Greater love that no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
