In 1885, Colonel Gzowski presented the first recorded Canadian Engineer trophies - two silver cups for annual competition among companies of engineers of the Canadian Militia. The Gzowski No. 2 Cup is assigned to the Land Forces Central Area Engineer’s Evaluation. Refer to 13004-062 for Gzowski No. 1 Cup. In 1885, Colonel (later Sir)Casimir Gzowski, an Engineer and HonouraryAide-de-Camp to Her Majesty, Queen Victoria, presented two silver cups for annual competition among companies of engineers of the Canadian Militia. These were the first recorded Engineer trophies, but were lost between 1914 and 1948 and re-instituted in1949. They were awarded to the first and second place Reserve Force units demonstrating the best engineering tasks at national Engineer summer camps held at CFB Petawawa. As of 1998, the Gzowski No. 1 Cup was assigned to the Land Forces Atlantic Area Engineer’s Evaluation and the GzowskiNo. 2 Cup to the Land Forces Central Area Engineer's Evaluation.
