International Harvester Co. of Canada Limited War Memorial

Hamilton, Ontario

Other

This memorial was erected by CASE International Havester Company to honour employees of International Harvester Co. of Canada Limited who served in the First and Second World Wars. In 1997 a time capsule was found behind the two medallions flanking the main entrance to the 1911 Works Office. The medallions and time capsule were relocated to a cairn erected in front of the new Plant Office. A tribute to International Harvester employees who served in the two World Wars was also mounted on the cairn. In 1999, with the closing of the Hamilton Plant, the cairn was dismantled and rebuilt on this present, permanent site. The 1911 time capsule, materials and additions made in 1997, are sealed herein.
