In November 1920, the East Nissouri Township Council met at the hall in Kintore and resolved that the members of council be a purchasing committee for the erection of a memorial in the Presbyterian cemetery at Kintore to the local fallen soldiers of the First World War.
At the cost of $1,200, the monument, was erected by the Hayes Bros. and includes a granite base and statute of Italian marble shipped from Italy. It was officially unveiled on October 17, 1921.
